Brian E. Kolkowski, 48, passed away on September 22, 2017 at Medical Center of Trinity in Trinity, FL. He was born on May 26, 1969 in Queens NY, to Edward “Ed” and Linda (Deviva) Kolkowski. After moving to Florida in 1981, he was a 1987 graduate of Ridgewood High School where he played basketball and football. It was in high school that he met the love of his life, Sherri, and they were married on February 3, 1996 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in New Port Richey, FL. In 1994, Brian began working at Community Hospital of New Port Richey as a respiratory therapist and was most recently serving in the role of Manager of the Respiratory Therapy Department at the Medical Center of Trinity.
Brian was an incredibly devoted father to his daughters Erin, 18, and Kelly, 12. They, along with his beautiful wife, were his proudest accomplishments and he loved spending time with his girls. Brian also had a few other passions, most notably his Pittsburgh Steelers and his Chevy Camaro. He enjoyed being an active member of Northcliffe Baptist Church in Spring Hill. Brian was widely known as the “gentle giant,” and at 6-foot-7-inches tall, most everyone he met “looked up” to him. He never met a stranger, and was known for his sense of humor and his energized and emphatic storytelling.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, Edward Kolkowski in 2006. Brian is survived by his wife, Sherri; his daughters Erin and Kelly; his mother, Linda; his sisters Debra, Karen, and Cheryl; his nieces and nephews Krystanna, Daylynn, Jimmy, Courtney, Emma, Eddie, Olivia, Sophie, Evelyn, and Ben.
