Linda L. Viall

September 23, 1948 — October 4, 2024

New Port Richey

Linda Josephine LaConte Viall passed away on October 4, 2024. She left a legacy of love and care spanning her seven-and-a-half decades.

She was predeceased by her parents, Josephine and Arthur LaConte, and her husband, James S. Viall. She is survived by her son, James A. Viall, her daughter-in-law, Jenny Brennan Viall, her sister, Anne LaConte-Polz, her brother, Arthur LaConte, her sister-in-law, Nancy LaConte, and a large extended family including her cherished nieces, nephews, and godchildren.

She was born on September 23, 1948 in Revere, MA, and attended school in Mattapan before moving to Wellesley Hills, where she graduated from high school in 1966. She traveled abroad extensively before marrying and settling down in Framingham, MA, where she raised her family. She ran her own childcare business for many years, and kept in touch with many of her now-grown “kids” who remember her as a warm and loving presence in their lives.

To know Linda was to love her. She kept friendships for decades and never met a stranger. She had a generous spirit and a fun-loving sense of humor. She was a champion for children and families, and supported many charities. She loved playing cards, entertaining, reading, listening to music, chatting with whomever stopped by, and visiting with her beloved circle of friends.

Linda was kind and thoughtful, bright and curious, intuitive, organized, and had a strong sense of self. As kind as she was, she was never a pushover, and was not afraid to stand her ground.

She was a bright light in many lives and will be missed dearly. The family will host a celebration of Linda’s life at La Cantina restaurant in Framingham, MA on Sunday, November 10, at 1pm. Please RSVP if you would like to attend. Another celebration will be held in Florida in early January. Details to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Linda’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Boys Town, The Home for Little Wanderers, or a charity of your choice.
