Loretta Linda Middleton, age 72, formerly of Milford, DE passed away surrounded by her loving family on February 5, 2020 in Tampa, Florida. She and her beloved husband, Charles "Butch" Middleton, would have celebrated their 55th anniversary on April 30, 2020. Loretta is survived by her husband, Butch, her brother, Barry Nelson of Aberdeen, MD; her eldest daughter, Denise "Denny", her husband, Phil Koehring and dog, Dixie, with whom she and her husband lived within Port Richey; her middle daughter, Loretta "Lori"Connelly and her fiance', John Miller of Milford, DE; her youngest daughter JoAnn and Bernard "Page" Brooks ( the grandcats, Apollo and Simba) who were living with Loretta, Butch, Denny, Phil and Dixie during the construction of their new home in Apollo Beach. Loretta is survived by four grandchildren; Jessica Middleton (Amos Corkle-Pickens), Jacob Whitehair (Emmalee Cole), Natalie (Alex Inangelo) and Christian Brooks as well as four great-grandchildren: Amos Corkle-Pickens, Leam Corkle, Charles Corkle, Rosalina Cole-Whitehair. She will also be missed by her brother-in-law Walter "Sparky" Middleton; sister-in-laws, Terri Swearinger, Elaine Armandi and Millie Lamphear. Loretta will also be remembered as a sweet aunt to many nieces and nephews including: Mark, Teri and Joe, Kim and Chris, Steve and Lisa, Phillip and RuthAnn, Justine, Walter Jr. "Sparky" and Nick. She is preceded in death by her mother, Marguerite (Bradley) Nelson; her father, Jacob Nelson; her brother, Lane Nelson; three sister-in-laws: Marguerite Reesey, Ruth Zegaczewski, and Penny Nelson; three brother-in-laws, Robert Reesey, Gary Swearinger, John Zegaczewski; her niece, Miranda Swearinger, her eldest grandson, David Whitehair and her cat, Stinky. Born March 29, 1947 in Chester Hospital in Chester, PA. She grew up in Boothwyn, with her parents and two brothers. She loved spending time with her Aunt June and her namesake grandmother, Loretta Palmer. She often spent time reading books at Marcus Library. She graduated from Chichester High School marrying Butch, her high school sweetheart with whom she was married for almost 55 years. Loretta was the most amazing wife and mother to her family. She had a way of making laughter contagious especially when she did her 'Bewitched' nose wiggle. She had an endearing way of getting to know new people by asking all sorts of questions and could carry on a conversation with anyone she met! She loved playing bingo, going for rides with Butch, and always looked forward to planning new adventures. Services will be private.
