Port Richey

John Murray Oot, of Port Richey, Florida, born 7/6/1935 in Syracuse, NY passed away 2/5/2024 after a brief illness with family at his side.

He is survived by his beloved wife Audrey (nee Oristian) of 63 years, father to John Jr (Connie), Ann (dog Sophie), Carol, Jim (Lisa) and Jeff (Ryan). Grandfather to Connor (Sam), Kendall, Taylor,  Maddy, Jack and great granddaughter Dallas Olivia. Also survived by sister-in-law Judi Oristian and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents, Edward and Marion Oot, sisters Patricia (Albert) Hoopingarner, Joanne (Robert) Richardson and his in-laws, John and Adele Oristian.

Murray worked for over 30 years for Mohawk/Allegheny/USAir in aircraft maintenance and passed the love of aviation onto his sons who are all in the industry. He especially loved bragging about his children to anyone who would listen.  And don’t get him talking about aviation…

Murray will be remembered for his love of his family, traveling, playing cards, and having his favorite foods: hamburgers, popcorn, Pepsi, and peppermint patties.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Patti Sue Richardson (niece/cousin) who gave invaluable advice and information regarding Murray’s condition.
