Richard C Cooper

May 5, 1951 — December 19, 2020

It is with sadness that we announce that Dr. Richard (Rick) Cooper passed away on December 19th at age 69. Born in 1951 in Lexington, KY, Rick was the fourth child of Dr. Wilford and Mary Leda Cooper, and brother to Bill, Bob, Mike and Mary-Ann. He attended Vanderbilt University from 1969 to 1973. There he met and married his wife, Lucy Ann Yeiser in 1973. After marriage, Rick attended and graduated from University of Louisville Dental School. Upon graduation, they moved to Union City, TN where both their boys, David and Robert, were born. The Cooper Family then moved to Florida in 1991, where Rick continued his dental practice until his retirement in 2018. In his spare time, he was active in his church and in the lives of his children David and wife, Nicole Folk Cooper, and Robert and wife, Emily Cook Cooper. Rick was devoted to bible study and fellowship; over the past 50 years he met with various groups of men for Bible Study - most recently, at Generations Christian Church and with a smaller group each Saturday morning. Rick was a friend to all he met - in the grocery, at the drugstore, with his hairdresser Sarah and to all his many patients and co-workers throughout the years. The family will have a Celebration of Life service sometime in the new year. In lieu of gifts or flowers, the family requests that you make donations in Rick's name to Preston and Kristin Coursey via CMF International, Faith Baptist Church on Ridge Road in New Port Richey or to Heifer International. “Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed...“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” - 1 Corinthians 15: 51-52, 55 "So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay." -Robert Frost
