Shirley was born and raised in Washington D.C. and is the daughter of George Howard Greevy and Elizabeth Marie Kosack.  She graduated from Eastern High School.  She was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband, MSGT Floyd Calvin Sullivan USMC, in 1968.  Her two sisters; Dorothy Greevy Chism (Walter) Lucille Greevy Fallon (Vincent) and her special companion; Peter Lee.

Shirley retired from the US Government Printing Office, as a supervisory section head after 27 years of service, and moved to Port Richey, Florida in 1989.  She deeply loved her country and was very patriotic, she was truly red, white and blue throughout.

Shirley was the center of the family as she loved all family gatherings especially Christmas.  Shirley had a fine talent for hosting and decorating, where her Christmas trees were exquisitely beautiful as was her home.

Shirley enjoyed vacationing and walking the boardwalk in Ocean City, New Jersey, she was always ready to go anywhere, whenever the wheels were moving.  She was fond of shopping at Macy’s.  She was an avid gardener as was reflected in her lovely gardens, love for flowers and her artistic eye for color and detail.  She was like a second mom to the kids in the neighborhood and her home was always open to them as well.

Shirley loved spending time with family and friends, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her loyal companion, Cindy, her pet toy poodle.  Her legacy of Love and dedication for God, family and country will forever remain in our hearts.  She will join her husband with burial at Arlington National Cemetery.  There will be a Celebration of her life on 12 October 2024 at her daughter’s, Darlene Sullivan Russell’s, home in Bullock, North Carolina.
