On Friday May 24th Wanda Sandidge McClellan lost her courageous battle with Cancer; however, her light will shine on in the countless people she touched in her 62 years. Wanda was a loyal and loving wife, an extraordinary mother, a brilliant doting “Grammy”, an inspiring educator, and a caring friend to everyone she ever encountered. Wanda lived to ensure those she knew we were cared for and listened to, always compassionately and without judgement. She delivered her love through delicious meals that always had a spare seat for anyone. Though a talented cook, there was no secret that the special ingredient was love, for everyone could taste it. Often Wanda was a tough critic, but always insighted and tactful, forever genuine, and caring, wanting the best for everyone.
Wanda is preceded in death by her Father Ernest Ruby Sandidge and Mother Leona Rita DuFrene. She is survived by her husband Walter McClellan, her brother Michael Sandidge, her sister Lisa Sandidge, her children Walter Alan McClellan, Amber McClellan-Massengill (m. Andrew Massengill), Henry Brett McClellan (m. Nicole McClellan) and her three grandchildren Walter Alan McClellan Jr., Andrew Elliott Massengill, and Eila Reign Massengill.
Wanda will be sorely missed by all that felt her gracious presence. She is sure to be remembered as the amazing teacher she was, not just as an educator but as a truly selfless and perpetual giver, who taught that life is precious, and to pursue your dreams and conquer your fears.
