William M. Hudspeth

March 7, 1951 — May 23, 2024

Hudson

We regret to announce the passing of William Maurice Hudspeth II (Marty), aged 73, of Hudson, FL, who passed on May 23, 2024. Marty fought a brave but short battle with pancreatic cancer and passed surrounded by his loved ones. He was a beloved father, granddad, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Marty was born on March 7, 1951 in Gurdon, Arkansas.  He spent his formative years in Arkansas, Alabama and Mississippi. He went on to attend The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg and was a member of the Sigma Epsilon fraternity. Following graduation, began a career at the Social Security Administration and retired as the District Manager of the Clearwater office. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others.

But more than anything, Marty was a devoted father. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and friends, sharing stories and games while drinking Diet Coke and eating a Snickers. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.

In his free time, Marty enjoyed bowling, reading, writing, and playing the guitar. He was always eager to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others. He was an active member of his community, volunteering for various causes and organizations.

Marty is survived by his son, Patrick (Caryn), and his grandchildren, Tanner, Angel, Ana, Alexandra and Troy. Marty is also survived by his past wife, Cathy Hudspeth, who he married in 1996 and remained close friends/family with. Marty was preceded in death by his beloved son, Paul Hudspeth, his ex-wife and mother of his children, Sally Middleton, and his parents William M. Hudspeth and Thelma Eugenia Perry.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Eric Streitenberger (Ashley) for their friendship with Marty the last 15 years.

A memorial service will be held for family and friends at Faupel Funeral Home on June 18, 2024 beginning at 5pm.
